When Tony and Loni came to Cork for their Wedding Reception they wanted to let go of the traditional, formal, multi-course dinner to a more ramped up, good time, elegant cocktail party instead.
By turning the “mingling hour” into the main event (hors-d’oeuvres are usually guests’ favorite part of the evening anyway) and including only the meaningful-to-you traditions, their celebration focused on their family and friends, and the memories they were creating.
The Venue & Decor
With a more cocktail party theme anywhere—an art gallery, a favorite neighborhood bistro, or a historic house can be the perfect spot. Tony and Loni chose to have their wedding at Prairie Productions in the West Loop of Chicago. Space is rented as an industrial photography/event loft space with 20ft high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows.
Natural light envelops the whole room while space is painted white allowing customers to customize the feel. Loni’s vision was to have more of a swanky cocktail party so she chose elegant grey linen and complemented it with an assortment of succulents and floral for the tables and the food stations. As the daylight faded, the room and entertainers were lit by the Japanese lanterns and multi-color up-lights filling the room with beautiful random color splashes throughout the night.

The bride and groom choose to incorporate succulent plants into their wedding décor which added such a striking accent to the venue.
